The Rutgers Collection of Original Illustration's for Childrens Literature

Founded in 1979, this is a unique and growing collection of original art spanning an era from the early 20th century to the present day. It includes over 4000 objects, such as illustrations, preparatory materials, books and manuscripts by more than one hundred American artists, with New Jersey contributions well represented.

The Roger Duvoisin Gallery for Children's Book Illustration offers regularly changing exhibitions from the Rutgers Collection's holdings. Exhibitions may explore a specific theme or utilize archival materials to shed light on the illustrator's creative process. In the gallery, hands-on activities related to the current exhibition invite the creative response of visitors of all ages.
